Updated Agenda Items
The City and County of Denver is considering an amendment to Article I of Chapter 30 of the Revised Municipal Code. This amendment alters City Council procedures for designating structures and districts for preservation by allowing, prior to general comment at public hearing, owners and applicants of a structure for designation and owners or residents of structures in a district for designation shall have a reasonable opportunity to present their case regarding the proposed designation or designations at the public hearing. If ordered published, a public hearing will take place on August 22nd.
The Denver City Council will hold a public hearing on August 8, 2022 for the proposed Sun Valley Denver General Improvement District (GID). The GID will be bounded by South Platte River on the east, 9th Avenue on the south, Decatur St. on the west, and 13th Avenue on the north. It will be funded by an 8-mill levy imposed upon all taxable commercial and residential properties located within its boundaries, and the Denver Housing Authority will impose a fee in lieu of taxes of $125/unit on all tax-exempt residential properties and a comparable rate for non-residential properties.
