Trust & Estate Attorney 

Fairfield and Woods, P.C. (FW), a well-established law firm in Denver, Colorado, is seeking a seasoned Trust and Estate Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in trust and estate law and will play a crucial role in helping our clients navigate complex estate planning matters, including trusts, tax planning and asset protection strategies, as well as trust administration and probate litigation matters. 

Relevant work experience may encompass a range of areas outlined below (proficiency in all or most is not a requirement):

  • Provide expert legal advice on estate planning, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
  • Draft, review, and revise estate planning documents to reflect clients’ wishes and comply with applicable laws.
  • Assist clients with probate and trust administration, including asset distribution and resolving estate disputes.
  • Strong knowledge of estate planning laws, tax implications, and probate procedures.
  • Experience with corporate, partnership, individual, or non-profit tax as well as real estate transactions.
  • Experience in preparing gift and estate tax returns.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and stay current with changes in estate planning laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met with the highest level of professionalism and care.
  • Collaborate with other legal professionals, financial advisors, and tax experts to provide comprehensive solutions to clients.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • 5+ years of relevant legal experience.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant law.
  • A Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Colorado Bar or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
  • Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, solid communication skills, good organizational skills.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with high-net-worth individuals and complex estate planning scenarios.
  • Familiarity with charitable giving strategies.
  • Portable business is an added plus.

Compensation & Benefits
The starting salary range for this position is $125,000-$170,000/year based on education and experience, as well as a discretionary bonus program. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
