Bio

A clear and effective communicator, Mike excels at presenting clients’ cases in the courtroom, where he has handled more than a hundred matters. His extensive understanding of civil litigation allows him to help companies navigate complex commercial disputes, particularly related to real estate and fiduciary duty. In addition to representing private and closely held businesses in corporate disputes, Mike handles product and professional liability matters, employment law disputes, and catastrophic injury and wrongful death suits in state and federal courts. 


He spent several years handling insurance bad faith and tort liability matters, and is skilled in analyzing insurance coverage issues. He handles disputes across a variety of industries, and in each representation he works to quickly gain knowledge of the issues pertinent to the case.  
Mike frequently works with businesses that have complex corporate structures and international law issues. His recent experience includes representing a global company that was facing simultaneous litigation on three continents regarding its tax minimization strategies. He also is experienced in the use of alternative dispute resolution procedures to avoid formal litigation, and his decades of experience in the courtroom allows him to excel regardless of venue. 

  • Defended officers and directors in state and federal court litigation,  involving breach of fiduciary duty claims
  • Analyzed insurance coverage disputes and represented insurers in bad faith and insurance coverage litigation
  • Litigated commercial claims arising from myriad of disputes, including breach of contract, commercial leases and real estate
  • Defended product liability claims involving a wide variety of products, and litigated tort liability claims, including wrongful death, catastrophic injury and premises liability claims
  • Acted as outside general counsel for a medical device company serving domestic and international customers
  • Represented defendants in federal bankruptcy court adversarial litigation
  • Litigated claims involving complex trust agreements
  • Represented individuals in complex, high-net-worth domestic relations matters, including business and personal practice valuations, trusts and parental responsibility
