My work is compelling because it allows me to help clients with the strategy and complex problem solving that comes with litigation and appeals. And, I'm always learning something new in the underlying issues that vary from case to case.

Bio

A strategist at heart, Lee Katherine represents clients before state and federal appellate courts throughout the country and serves as co-chair of the firm's appellate practice group. Also an experienced trial attorney, she excels at analyzing trial court records to develop a unique appellate strategy for each client.

An avid backpacker and local historian, Lee Katherine appreciates trekking through history both within and outside of her work. She sees appellate cases as historical puzzles that she works to unravel, combing through the court records of the case to find the pieces that will inform her appellate approach. She has handled appeals related to a wide variety of legal issues including probate, family law, commercial and business law, bankruptcy, and personal injury law.

With hands-on experience in both jury and bench trials, Lee Katherine excels at developing an appellate strategy from the outset by helping trial lawyers see the issues that they need to raise on appeal. Colleagues and clients rely on her keen eye and expansive knowledge to craft a compelling appellate plan.

Because of her extensive knowledge of fiduciary, trust, and probate law, Lee Katherine’s practice also focuses on trusts and estates. She regularly handles probate litigation representing fiduciaries and heirs throughout the probate litigation process. Her experience with probate litigation includes serving as trial and appellate counsel in one of the longest-running cases in Denver Probate Court history.
