Katie represents clients in real estate deals as well as oil and gas title and land use issues. Katie draws on her experience as both an in-house and private practice attorney to advise her clients and help them solve issues from multiple angles or understand and mitigate business risks involved in their projects.
Her real estate experience includes land entitlements and real estate development, including zoning, purchase and sale agreements, development agreements, commercial leases, and the drafting of covenants, easements, and construction documents.
Her years of experience as an oil and gas title attorney have given her a keen eye for detail that she brings to every client matter. She has worked on complex state, federal, and tribal titles involving water and land use issues. She has handled title examination, issued drilling and division order opinions, and assisted individuals with significant land and mineral assets.
Prior to joining Fairfield and Woods, Katie was an in-house attorney for an air-medical company that hangered out of airports, municipality land, and private hangars across the country. While there, she deepened her title and real estate experience handling leasing, permitting, engineering contracts, and construction contracts.
